Dr. KantroIgnore your teeth, and they will go away!

Q. How long should I brush for?
A. You should brush for 2 minutes every time you brush.

Q. Why is it important to floss?
A. While tooth brushing removes plaque from the tooth surfaces, it can't do the entire job of
removing plaque. Cleaning between the teeth with floss or inter-dental cleaners removes debris
from between the teeth and under the gum line areas where your toothbrush can't reach.
Tooth decay and gum disease often begin in these areas, so it's important to clean them
thoroughly.

Q. Does bottled water contain fluoride?
A. Most bottled water does NOT contain fluoride. Look for toothpastes with fluoride for the best
protection.

Q. At what age should children begin to see the dentist?
A. The best time to take your child for his or her first dental visit is before their 2nd birthday --
or at least before all 20 of their first set of teeth have appeared. The earlier you begin, the better
chance your dentist has to prevent problems. Of course, if you notice a cavity, or it a tooth should
get bumped or injured, your child should have a dental examination immediately.

Q. What is bonding?
A. When your dentist bonds your teeth, he or she attaches ('bonds') a natural-looking material
to yourtooth surface. Bonding can close a small gap between teeth, repair a chipped or fractured
tooth, or cover up discolored teeth.

Q. Why does my dentist recommend a crown instead of bonding?
A. Severely fractured, decayed or badly damaged teeth require the strength and durability of a crown.
When dealing with back teeth, this is especially true because they are subject to greater wear and abrasion.
